Paddling Tip 1: Duration: 1.5 hrs. Distance: 4 km – Water Tower – Gottlieben (Switzerland)
Start at the water tower by the three large poplars. Paddle westward (to the right), downstream along the beautiful Seerhein, past the Wollmatinger Ried nature reserve. After about 1.5 km, you’ll pass by the charming Swiss village of Gottlieben (opportunities for refreshments). A little further and you’ll reach the turning point of your tour. Great views of Lake Untersee with the Reichenau Island and the Hegau volcanic landscape in the background. Return upstream. Note that you’ll paddle longer ;-). Back at the water tower, you can refuel at the small restaurant “esszimmer” or enjoy a cool beer on the terrace by the water. Thank you for booking, and see you next time.
Paddling Tip 2: Duration: 2-3 hrs. Distance: 7 km – Water Tower – Inselkanal/Stadtgarten – Seeburgpark (Switzerland)
Start at the water tower by the three large poplars. Paddle eastward (to the left), upstream. This means it will be challenging for you 😉 but the return journey is relaxing. You’ll pass under three bridges along the beautiful Seerhein. After 2 km (right after the third bridge), you can turn right into the Inselkanal and paddle towards the Stadtgarten. The current will then carry you back into the Seerhein around the island. Or you can take a detour past the Konstanz harbor (watch out for shipping traffic) to the Swiss Seeburgpark. There are landing points and refreshment stations along the shore. Back at the water tower, you can refuel at the small restaurant “esszimmer” or enjoy a cool beer on the terrace by the water.
