The location is ideal to reach it by public transport or by bike via the lakeside path. From Potsdam West, the best way to change banks of the Havel is to take the cable ferry on the Kiewitt.
You will quickly be impressed by the island, the historic buildings and the great riverside path. In about two hours you can circumnavigate the island by SUP or canoe and marvel at the size of Templin See.
Especially in the morning hours the silence on the water is wonderful. Northeast of the island you can enjoy a great view of the Speicherstadt, the Nikolaikirche & the Potsdamer Stadtschloss.
